Praying, Gratitude or Denial

Pray is the core of worship. Pray is the begining of gratitude. Shaikh Ibnu Atoillah said that sometimes he shy to pray to Allah because he feel thankless for everything that Allah gave to him before he ask for them. But then he pray, because pray is order from Allah. And obey the order from Allah is the worship.
So, the prayers have to remember that Allah who gave before asked. The prayer has to remember to all favour that Allah given to him before he ask, although he is not an appreciative people. It will rise the belief that Allah Ta’ala Is The Merciful and answer the pray of the servant who pray to Him. Allah gave many goodness to people who doesn’t pray to Him. How about to people who pray to Him?
Several peoples worship a statue or a human like Pharaoh. They ask all they need to the idol. They belief that the idol can give them benefit. And the true servants of Allah only worship and ask to Allah. They belief that only Allah who can give them benefit and all favour.
Every religious service have hikmah. There is some one who pray to Allah, “O Allah, please, make me to become Your servant who has income above US$ 1.000,- a day.” Then he think that pray is the key to open the door of wealthy that Allah prepare for him. If He doesn’t give it today, so He will accumulate it. Or may be He convert it whit something more valueable than US$ 1.000,- a day.
Then he remember that Allah still give him the life when in other place heared the crying that escort the coffin. That man also remember to Allah Who move him to pray on the dawn, while the other still asleep on the cradle of dream.
He also remember to the health that he feel. While some peoples feel the painful of the disease and need more than US$ 1.000,- to heal the disease.
And he remember to his job. Other peoples have to work more hard than him to get same income. Then he remember to his break-fast, while the other suffered by hungry.
Those all things make him realize that Allah gave him more than he asked. He thanks to Allah, and hopping that he get the mercy of Allah not only in this life, but also in akhirah. Then he please to get the protect of Allah from the hell-fire which prepared for thankless peoples.
